US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have sought to project a significantly more cooperative tone in relations between the world's two largest economies.

During high-stakes discussions, both global leaders highlighted an urgent need for greater bilateral cooperation across trade, technology, artificial intelligence and strategic security. Donald Trump expressed immense pride in the enduring relationship between the United States and China, describing his personal rapport with Xi Jinping as a strong friendship.

The US President stated that both leaderships would continue working jointly towards a better future while focusing heavily on security, high-end technology and artificial intelligence. Donald Trump further emphasised that the two major economic powers were actively making progress towards achieving a substantially more balanced trade relationship.

Visiting the United States upon Donald Trump's official invitation, Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed that China and the US hold a solemn responsibility as global powers.

Xi Jinping noted that both countries must meaningfully contribute to global development and progress, asserting that bilateral interests are deeply intertwined with vast scope for joint cooperation.

The Chinese leader expressed complete readiness to work alongside Donald Trump to keep bilateral relations on a steady, predictable course while building strategic stability. Xi Jinping acknowledged that while Beijing-Washington cooperation cannot solve every global challenge, it remains vital for addressing a major portion of international issues.

The Chinese President promised that China will keep its domestic market open to US companies, while expressing hope that Chinese start-ups and firms receive fair treatment in the US.

Artificial intelligence featured prominently in Xi Jinping's address, where he noted both nations possess the technical capability and duty to develop AI under strict human control.

Donald Trump echoed these priorities, identifying technology and AI as vital themes for future talks, alongside critical defence matters and broad trade balances. Xi Jinping advocated for healthy economic competition that remains within well-defined limits, framing it as a race for mutual improvement rather than a zero-sum confrontation.

The Chinese leader urged both nations to maintain an unyielding commitment to avoiding direct military conflict and destructive strategic confrontation.

He recommended that both militaries preserve regular dialogue and fortify institutional frameworks dedicated to crisis communication and conflict prevention.

Xi Jinping also pressed for expanded cooperation in law enforcement and counter-narcotics, whilst proposing an increase in direct commercial flights to facilitate trade and movement.

Placing immense emphasis on societal ties, Xi Jinping remarked that the future of bilateral relations depends heavily on robust people-to-people exchanges and younger generations.

He officially announced an initiative to invite 1,00,000 young Americans to visit China over the next five years through various study and cultural exchange programs. Highlighting diplomatic symbolism, Xi Jinping revealed that two giant pandas, Pingping and Fu Xuan, would soon move to Zoo Atlanta to reinforce cultural ties.

Xi Jinping invoked the historical joint efforts during World War II, when Chinese and American armed forces fought side by side against fascist aggression.

He concluded that China's goal of national rejuvenation and Donald Trump's objective of making America great again can peacefully proceed alongside each other for a better world.
